From nerd to CEO

Hi, I'm Adrian, the CEO of Past Perfect. The guy who writes this blog. I thought long and hard about what to write about in the first blog post and thought it best to start with my personal story and the origins of Past Perfect. So let's start with me.
I'm actually a total nerd. Whether at school or elsewhere, I've always been the eccentric. I like playing games, watching anime, and spending a lot of time in my own world. But if there's one thing I'm truly passionate about, it's thinking . I started my first business when I was just nine years old, trying to sell PCs on eBay. Those were awesome times!
As an IT nerd, I attended a private computer science school and eventually ended up working as a software developer in various companies.
But one thing was always clear to me: I wanted to be successful. Whether in sports, personal development, or business – success was always a goal for me. And for me, success was most closely associated with my own startup . I tried dropshipping, then trading. You test a lot of things when you're young and want to be successful. But one thing was clear: If I continued to work hard on myself, I would be successful.
However, I only truly became aware of this conscious pursuit of success when I lost the most important person I had ever known, my future wife, and my home. At that moment, I realized that I lived for one purpose: success. It's a life's work. That's right, I made it my life's work to become successful. And that's where we come to the past perfect.
At Christmas 2024, I was sitting with some friends and brainstorming ways we could make money. At the time, I was newly unemployed, having been fired from my former company after they took advantage of me. It was a strange time, during which I heard contradictory things from several bosses. It was clear: This wasn't how it worked. But, as is the case in life, no one ever said success would come easily. But I accepted it because I knew I had to work on myself to achieve success.
Back to the origins of Past Perfect: When we realized that you can make good money with vintage clothes and that the market is still growing strongly, it was the perfect opportunity to get started.
I then spent weeks searching for the perfect name. What makes names like Nike, Apple, or Amazon so special? They're simple and memorable . Everyone knows the name "Past Perfect" from school, and it sounds simply cool—like something from the past that's still perfect. And it fits perfectly with well-preserved vintage clothes that really fit the Y2K style.
The beginning was made. We bought bundles from our suppliers and experimented with what we could do with them. We started with Vinted, but we weren't really profitable there. But in the private sector, things took off. People were surprised by the quality and the products. That's when I realized the huge potential there was to earn my first million.
After just two weeks, we had tripled our investment. I thought to myself: It's all or nothing! If I don't put my all into this, it won't work. When I looked at our competition, I realized I could see improvements in many areas. So I did what anyone like me would do: I put everything into doing better. I found sponsors and received thousands of euros. Better equipment, better clothes, and a wider selection. The best part: My own company, my own website, and unique branding. It was perfect, and I was happy.
I never would have imagined that vintage clothing would be the beginning of everything. Today, I have specialists at my side who are familiar with the subject matter, are creative, and know what they're doing. And I take care of the vision. Because that's what makes a CEO successful: pursuing a vision and giving everything to make it a reality.
Well, here we are. You're reading this, and maybe you already have your own thoughts. But I just want to say thank you . Thank you for reading and for your interest in Past Perfect . My greatest wish, even if it might sound a bit clichéd, is to make every single customer happy. My goal isn't just to make money, but to be successful . And with that success comes money.
